The 'Tri-Isys Fellowship Night' which was held on
November 22, at Makati City, Manila, Philippines, was a total turn out and a huge
success. Jointly organized by Internet Service Provider Tri-Isys and Security
Solution firm MicroWorld Technologies, the event attracted a quality audience
and managed to captivate their collective imagination. What began as an enlightening
session on the current IT security scenario, went on to fun filled raffle sessions,
games, dinner and Champagne!

With
around 200 guests from various industries and service sectors turning up at the
venue, the event took off at 6 PM with a short audio visual presentation on Tri-isys
and MicroWorld's eScan. From there on, Prabin Vijay of MicroWorld took center
stage. He illustrated how threats like Virus, Worm, Trojan, Backdoor, Bots, Rootkits,
Phishing and Spamming succeed in crippling and sabotaging organizational networks.
Prabin explained vividly to the audience how these perils differed from
one another. He then moved on to MicroWorld Winsock Layer (MWL), the key technology
used in eScan. "As MWL is placed on the Winsock layer, it enables eScan to
work as a round-the-clock protective mechanism for computers. While almost all
AntiViruses work by downloading files to a temporary folder before scanning, MWL
enables eScan to check objects at the transport layer itself," he said.
AntiVirus,
AntiSpam and Content Security, the three key modules of eScan, were demonstrated
in the second half of the presentation. A right mix of reactive and proactive
technologies is used in the AntiVirus engine so that even unknown and disguised
threats are quickly addressed.
Prabin then demonstrated how MailScan, the
Mail Server Security software from MicroWorld, works. The functioning of its AntiVirus
and Spam Control components were explained in detail. Finally he made a presentation
on the firewall software, eConceal, which comes across as a user friendly and
highly effective solution for intrusion prevention in networks.
Soon as
the presentation ended it was dinner time. What followed dinner was a fun-filled
session with raffles and games. Everybody was in high spirits as the vibrant audience
took to business and pleasure with the same zeal. Winners of the games took home
booties like Sony PSPs, Sony Ericsson mobile phones, Mario d Boro Shoes, Unisilver
Time Watches and eScan ISS.
The program ended with closing remarks from
the Tri-Isys Chief Executive Adviser, Mr. Tanny Syfu, who also gave the participants
a gist of what the company can offer them in both Products and Services in year
2008. Sure, it was an evening to remember for everyone who took part in the event!
